HORSPOOL, MR. ERNEST, who died at Auckland on June 21, aged 65, was a dependable batsman for Auckland and played for New Zealand in an unofficial Test match with the Australian touring side of 1913-14. In a first-class career extending over nineteen years, he scored 1,686 runs, average 24.43, his highest innings being 143 out of 212 added with N. C. Sneddon for the second Auckland wicket against Victoria, on tour in New Zealand, in 1924-25.
