Pakistan 2-3 West Indies

The West Indians in Pakistan, 1985-86

No sooner had Pakistan's home series against Sri Lanka finished than West Indies, after a stopover in Sharjah for games against India and Pakistan, arrived in Pakistan to play five one-day internationals. In nineteen previous one-day matches between the two countries, Pakistan had won only three - and all of those in Australia. This time, led by Imran Khan and putting up a brave fight against some hostile bowling by Malcolm Marshall, Michael Holding, Tony Gray and Courtney Walsh, they won two and kept the series alive until the last match, which West Indies won by eight wickets to clinch the rubber. The main attraction of the series was the batting of Vivian Richards who, captaining West Indies for the first time on tour, hit half-centuries in the first three matches and scored 260 runs in the five matches with an average of 86.66.
