The Sri Lankans in the West Indies, 1995-96

Less than a month after their victory in the World Cup final in Lahore, Sri Lanka made their first appearance in the Caribbean an impressive and triumphant one. They were furfilling an arrangement with the Queen's Park Cricket Club, agreed several months earlier, to play two matches to mark the 100th anniversary of the Club's Test ground. They comfortably won both. defeating a West Indies Masters Invitation XI, comprising mostly players from the great teams of the 1980s, one day, and the full West Indies team in a one-day international the next.
