Ireland v Afghanistan, 2016

One-day internationals (5): Ireland 2, Afghanistan 2
Afghanistan consolidated tenth place in the ICC's one-day rankings - two ahead of Ireland - in a controversial series in Belfast which boiled over in the fourth match. Mohammad Nabi fielded a ball with his feet behind the boundary, and Ed Joyce was run out for 12 while strolling back to his crease, confident he had scored a four. Nabi assured the umpires he had not been over the line, but photographs showed otherwise, and the ICC reprimanded him for conduct "contrary to the spirit of the game". Ireland had already squared the series thanks to Joyce's century; his unbeaten 160 in the last - he cited "extra motivation" after the Nabi incident - took his series average to 169.
